The pictures below don’t do the work justice, my work - as well as the Barn - is best appreciated in person. Come visit - we look forward to seeing you! Artist statement- While attending the University of Idaho, in pursuit of her BFA, Tracy took every art class she could: ceramics, collage, drawing, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture, printmaking, and of course, textile surface design. While fabric and fibers are now her primary art medium, she has been experimenting with abstract mixed media compositions, making use of collage, and surface design and mark making on paper. Textile surface design is still her first and fullest love, from batik to free-motion machine quilting—she is excited by the element of surprise - hooray for happy accidents! With all of the many surface design techniques and options available, her head is usually swimming with ideas for her next projects. If only there were more hours in the day! She has had a public studio at the Dahmen Barn in Uniontown, WA from its beginning, and she loves it. Tracy would love to hear from you. SOLD 14" x 72" of 100% silk chiffon - I buy my scarf blanks from Dharma Trading and then hand-dye them. With a rolled hem, chiffon has such a lovely "pebble" texture to it. Made into an infinity scarf, by slip stitches in embroidery floss. more to come, stay tuned...  Torch-fired glass bead earrings
Each bead is made one at a time, so each bead is unique. Glass enamel melted on a core of copper tubing, with accent beads, and fish-hook style earring findings in gold or silver (plated).
