Sustain the Barn

A Planned Giving program allows supporters to pledge a portion of their estate in advance to the Dahmen Barn Foundation. Such thoughtful gifts help secure the future of the Dahmen Barn and preserve its place in the Palouse art community.

We gratefully accept donations in the form of cash, real property, or future income from investments or similar holdings. Donors may specify a percentage of their estate, a specific amount, or the residue of their estate. For example, a local farmer recently bequeathed net proceeds from a portion of her farmland to a local non-profit for the next 40 years.

Ways to Designate Your Gift

Donors may choose how they would like their contributions to benefit the Dahmen Barn, such as:

1. Capital Improvement Projects

• Restoration of the silo
• Enhancing the field between the road and the highway to include additional parking and outdoor art displays

2. Ongoing Maintenance and Operations

Supporting the upkeep and day-to-day operations of the Barn.

3. Art Education Programs

• Scholarships for public classes
• Funding to bring visiting artists from outside the area
• Scholarships or materials for kids’ art programs
• Support for resident artisans to attend workshops or classes to improve their skills
• Enabling local school children to experience creativity programs at the Barn

Planning Your Gift

Donors are encouraged to consult with their estate planner or attorney to include appropriate language for making a planned gift to the Dahmen Barn.

Artisans at the Dahmen Barn is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, independent from the Uniontown Community Development Association.

How the Adopt-a-Wheel Program works
Each wheel can be adopted only once. The donor may select a wheel, or one can be assigned. Each wheel is to be marked with the donor’s name and a number. Several levels of adoption are available based on size of the wheel. There is a book kept in the barn that shows where each wheel may be found in the fence, so donors may visit their adopted wheels.

Some wheel owners decorate their wheel at holiday times and during the Christmas holiday lights are added to the top. What a lovely sight it is.

If you already have a wheel you may send a voluntary "maintenance" donation in any amount, because our commitment to Steve and Junette Dahmen was the fence would be preserved.

Artisans at the Dahmen Barn is a 501c3 non-profit organization, so your donations are tax deductible.
