Kassie Smith

Kassie earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in ceramics from Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan in 2013. She then moved to Moscow to pursue her Master of Fine Arts at the University of Idaho, completing it in May 2016. Kassie has been teaching (and loving) the Introduction to Ceramics course at the University of Idaho since January 2014. She finds immense joy in being elbows-deep in a mound of clay at the pottery wheel and loves sharing her passion with others. While wheel-throwing is her preferred building technique and she has a strong affinity for functional pottery, she also maintains a dedicated sculptural art practice.
