Alison Oman
Alison immigrated to the US from England in 1975 bringing with her a love of drawing, photography and horses. She has taken numerous art courses, joined several art groups, and volunteered in art galleries for over 45 years across the Northwest. She found scratchboard in 2016 and fell in love with the medium that allows her to “draw with light”. She feels so fortunate to have recently become a Signature Member of the International Society of Scratchboard Artists and to have pieces accepted for the 2023 exhibition in Tucson. There is still so much to learn, and she looks forward to learning more from local artisans plus soaking up information at scratchboard conferences and workshops. Alison also enjoys the vibrant colors and challenges of pastel painting, especially for portraits of animals such as dogs, cats, horses, and wildlife in general. She is a current member of the Northwest Pastel Society and has had paintings shown all over the Northwest.
And then there’s her beadwork!! Alison has always enjoyed working on a loom and weaving beaded designs, that are a little like tiny beaded tapestries. And once a beadaholic, always a beadaholic!!
