✩ Sunspots

Description

Sunspots is a vibrant abstract contemporary composition in oil and cold wax medium on archival media board. The composition is divided into three sections. This piece is rendered in reds and golds, along with some white and black, with a bit of blue. The black wood frame has non-glare glass.

my process for Sunspots

Abstract paintings are always a journey, both in the creation and the viewing. New spaces and landscapes emerge and we all see different things in the marks, color, and textures. Creating something unpredictable, in the moment, and letting the flow happen, while trying not to be limited by subject is such an interesting challenge. I hope the work evolves its own life and meaning, revealing unconscious worlds and possibilities for the viewer. This is a contemporary piece reminiscent of works by Jon Thrasher (will open in new window) and/or David Cottingham (will open in new window).

Black wood gallery frame with glass, no mat.
