Crystal Motion
$4,200.00
Artist Larry Arbour introduces us to a new series of paintings, Firm Foundations, devoted to contemporary abstractions of nature. Inspired by the teachings of abstract master painter, Hans Hoffman, Larry focusses his attention on the rhythms of the mineral crystals found in nature while using color to dramatize space and presence. Hoffman taught the New York School of abstract painters that the primary concern of the abstract artist should always be the integrity of canvas surface. Using a dexterous brush stroke Larry anchors his subject with color to maintain a strong rhythm of dimension and canvas. The artist composes a never ending story for us to travel; vignettes in built on the dynamic forces found in the creation of minerals. We become engaged in the process of creation beyond simply spectating.
