Friends of the Barn

LOOK WHAT GOOD FRIENDS CAN DO!

The photo at the right is of the second floor of the barn "before" the initial clean up began.

The Uniontown Community Development Association (UCDA), the non-profit public development authority run by volunteers that was the visionary and implementer of the art center idea, completed the re-construction with private donations, grants from a variety of public and agencies and private foundations, and thousands of volunteered hours. Therefore, there are no mortgage payments on the facility. This enables UCDA to promise the participating artisans the lowest possible rental rates. The operating budget is a "make ends meet" budget, with no profit built in.

Artisans at the Dahmen Barn is a 501(c)3 non profit organization. Donations provide for ongoing support of the facility and its programs through planned giving. Three capital projects still need to be funded: development of the agriculture museum and development of the public parking area.

Donations may be made to Artisans at the Dahmen Barn. All donations are tax deductible and donors may specify a specific use for the funds. Donors may mail checks made to Artisans at the Dahmen Barn, to P O Box 36, Uniontown WA 99179. A written receipt will be sent, and donors may be listed on the website at their request.

Artisans at the Dahmen Barn recognizes those individuals and groups that play an irreplaceable role in supporting and supplementing the Dahmen Barn's programs and improvements. See below the Featured Friend for this period.

Shirley McCann

Shirley's passion for gardening and artistic talent graces the table in the foyer of the Barn during the growing season, where each week she prepares a beautiful large flower arrangement. Touring Shirley's garden reveals her interest in growing out-of-the-ordinary plants, so the arrangements she brings to the Barn are not what you would receive from a florist.

Shirley McCann is the wife of UCDA Board member John McCann.
